Carl Cowart

February 12, 1931 — January 23, 2016

Mr. Carl Edward Cowart, 84, of White, died Saturday, January 23, 2016 at Wellstar Kennesaw Hospice. Born February 12, 1931 in Savannah, GA, he was a son of the late Gene Francis Cowart and the late Eddie Lee Huckeba Cowart.

Mr. Cowart attended Tabernacle Baptist Church. He was very skilled with his hands and enjoyed wood working and drawing. He was a civil war reenactor with The Oglethorpe Light Infantry who liked to hunt for civil war artifacts.

Survivors include a daughter, Cathy C. Smith and husband, Dr. Tim S. Smith of White; granddaughter, Annalyn K. Smith of Athens; grandson, Therron J. Smith and wife, Ashley of Roswell; great-granddaughter, Embrey M. Smith. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Blanche Russell Cowart.

A graveside service will be held Tuesday, January 26, 2016 at 2:30 p.m. in Forest Lawn Cemetery, Savannah, GA with Dr. Tim S. Smith officiating. The family will receive friends on Sunday, January 24, 2016 from 4:30 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Parnick Jennings Funeral Home.
