Carl Lee Hornsby, 84, of White Georgia, passed away on June 2, 2023 at home surrounded by loved ones.
He was born on April 28, 1939 in College Park Georgia to the late Vergie Jones and Walter Hornsby. In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by wife, Nancy Hornsby; siblings, Jody Hornsby, Betty Swallow, Hazel McConnell, Ronnie Hornsby, Walter Hornsby Jr., and four great grandchildren.
He was a member of Oak Hill Baptist Church. His faith was a major pillar in his life. He loved and cared for his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren very much as well as many more brothers and sisters in Christ.
Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Carla and Craig Bailey; brother, Rojer Jones; sister, Linda Lee; grandchildren, Autumn Brooke Edwards, Stormie Waller, Travis Cofield, Destiny Bailey, Sequan Spigner, L.A. and Carly Bailey; along with 13 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, June 6, 2023 at Oak Hill Baptist Church in Rydal with Reverend Reggie Temples and Reverend James Hamilton officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Oak Hill Baptist Church in honor of Carl. All donations will be put towards the youth group. Donations may be sent to the church at 3855 GA-140 Rydal, Georgia 30171.
