Mr. Carlton Aycock, 69, of Cartersville, died Monday, October 15, 2012 at Kathy Cares Hospice.
Carlton was born April 8, 1943, in Samson, Alabama. He was a 16 year veteran, proudly serving in the United States Army and the United States Air Force. Mr. Aycock was a member of the Adairsville Church of God and had worked for many years in the car business, most recently as general manager for Major Motors. He was a charter and lifetime member of the Jaycees. He was in various ministries in which he has devoted much time and effort, and in the last five years he spent time in the Prison Ministry at Floyd County Prison. He was preceded in death by his foster parents, Charles and Leila Collins.
Survivors include his wife of forty two years, Patricia Neal Aycock; his children, James and Amy Aycock of Hartford, Alabama, Gerald and Kara Carlson of Taylorsville, Angel and Matt Farist of Kingston and Charley Aycock of Cartersville; his grandchildren, Beth and Nic Sheppard, Aaron Carlson, Jeremiah and Victoria Jennings and Howard (Trey) Jennings, III, Tiffany Jennings and Deja Heard; his great-grandchild, Kiley Branscum; and his sister, Charlotte Kirkland.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, October 17, 2012 at Adairsville Church of God with Pastor Ken Coomer officiating. Interment will be in the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton. The family will receive friends from 6 – 8 p.m., Tuesday, at Parnick Jennings Funeral Home.
Serving as pallbearers will be Dewayne Mullinax, Nic Sheppard, Caleb Steed, Jeremiah Jennings, Daniel Pavel and Howard Jennings, Jr. Honorary pallbearers will be Art Phillips, Rudy Bomomeo, Micah Boyd and Jared Smith.
