Carol Black

February 7, 1934 — April 24, 2010

Carol A. Cornwell Black, 76, of White passed away Saturday, April 24, 2010 at the Cedar Valley Nursing & Rehab Center in Cedartown. A native of Bartow County, she was born February 7, 1934 and was the daughter of the late Silas Paul Cornwell and the late Ada Young Cornwell. She was also preceded in death by her husband of forty-six years, Earl Thomas Black; her brothers, Kenneth Cornwell, Wayne Cornwell, and Dane Cornwell; and her sisters Hazel Long, Mary Williams, and Diane Cox.



Carol was a member of Oak Hill Baptist Church and enjoyed reading, doing crossword puzzles, and fishing.



Survivors include her son, Gary Black of Centre, Alabama; her sister and brother-in-law, Judy and Bill Southworth of Cartersville; her granddaughter, Samantha Maddox of Cartersville; and two great-great-grandchildren.



Graveside funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, April 29, 2010 in Oak Hill Baptist Church Cemetery in Rydal with Rev. Huey Holloway officiating.



Serving as pallbearers will be Vonda Akins, Tracy Oliver, Mark Oliver, and Dustin Oliver.



The family will receive friends from 6 � 9 p.m. Wednesday at Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 430 Cassville Rd., Cartersville, GA 30120.
