She is preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Gene McCoy and Ben McCoy; sisters, Diane McCoy Brock, Yvaughn McCoy, and Regina McCoy Manning; and nephews Eddie Radford and Donald Radford.

Carolyn is survived by her husband Jim King; daughters, Susan Gipson, Stephanie (Jerry) House, and Heather (Steve) Winkelmann; grandchildren, Joshua Gipson, Rachel Gipson Stark, Patrick Gipson, Will (Bailey) House, Barrett Winkelmann, and Veda Winkelmann; great grandchildren, Mychaela Stark, Dawson Stark, Tristen Stark, Josi Caroline Stark, Rhett Stark, Ruby House, and Briggs House; brother, Anthony (Heather) McCoy; sister, Laura McCoy; special nephew, Doug Radford; 2 great nephews; a great great niece and nephew; a number of cousins; lifetime friend Dianne Knox; and her church family at Miller's Chapel Independent Full Gospel Church.

Carolyn worked at Nantucket Industries for 30 years with some of that time as Head of Receiving and ended her career at Tallatoona. Carolyn loved her family and friends fiercely but first and foremost she loved her Lord and Savior with all her heart. She was a powerful prayer warrior. She enjoyed listening to Jentezen Franklin preach, and listening to Alan Jackson gospel music. She touched many hearts in her journey on Earth- from teaching Sunday School and leading Christmas plays to supervising "her boys" at Nantucket, to giving parenting classes at Tallatoona. She touched many hearts with her friendship, along with her 40 plus years at Miller's Chapel Church. To her family, her favorite quote was, "I want you to know I love you" or "You know I love you, don't you? I hope so". Carolyn wanted His light to shine through her. She will be remembered by her warm smile, infectious laughter, and her love of giving hugs.
