Carrie E. Hobbs, 73, of Cartersville died Wednesday, September 16, 2009 at her residence. Born June 30, 1936, in Batesville, Mississippi, she was the daughter of the late Edward Newton and the late Katie Wise Newton. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Hobbs; her daughter, Theresa Kuykendall; and two great-grandchildren, Victoria Bethune and Austin Guest.
Survivors include her daughters and their spouses, Brenda and Miguel Aguirre of Winder, Tjuana and Larry Adams of Jackson, and Connie and Bobby Ellis of Kingston; her son, Ralph Hobbs of Marietta; her brother, James Newton of Lawrenceville; thirteen grandchildren; and twenty-four great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Friday, September 18, 2009 in the chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services with the Rev. Mike Franklin officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers will be Keith Phillips, Russell Guest, Christopher Ellis, Daniel Bethune, Eloy Berumen, and Ralph Hobbs. These gentlemen are asked to be at the funeral home by 10:15 a.m. on Friday.
In lieu of flowers those desiring may make contributions to the American Cancer Society, 300 W. Emery St., Suite 106, Dalton, GA 30720.
The family will receive friends from 6 � 9 p.m. Thursday at Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 430 Cassville Rd., Cartersville, GA 30120.
