Charles A. �Charlie� Brooks, Jr., 46 of Cartersville died Wednesday, December 15, 2010 at the Cartersville Medical Center. Born July 18, 1964 in Baltimore, Maryland, he was the son of Dottie Abbott and Charles A. Brooks, Sr.
Charlie had a kind heart and a gentle spirit and was all about helping others. He loved his family including his dog, Susie. Charlie also enjoyed gardening, doing yard work, and getting on the computer.
Survivors include his mother, Dottie Abbott of Cartersville; his father, Charles A. Brooks, Sr. of West Virginia; his sister, Lori Megna and her husband, John, of Alpharetta; his brothers, Jeff Abbott and Steve Abbott; his nephews, Austin Megna, Tyler Megna, Matthew Abbott, and Aaron Abbott; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
A memorial service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 21, 2010 in the chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services with Rev. John Hembree officiating. Burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to the Etowah Valley Humane Society, 36 Ladds Mountain Rd. SW, Cartersville, GA 30120.
