Charles Howard, Sr.

Mr. Charles Eugene Howard, Sr. age 51, of 231 Cave Spring Street, Rome, GA, died Saturday, August 2, 2008, in a Rome hospital.



Mr. Howard was born on April 2, 1957, in Paulding County, GA, son of Christine Janette Hunter Nichols of Cave Spring, GA, and the late Carl Charles Howard. He had spent most of his life in Floyd County and was self-employed as a salesman. Mr. Howard was of the Baptist faith. He enjoyed NASCAR and loved to work on computers. In addition to his father Mr. Howard is preceded in death by his sister, Juanita Missouri Sartin on March 5, 1998.



In addition to his mother Mr. Howard is survived by his wife, Tonya Kelley Howard of Rome; three sons, Charles Eugene Howard, Jr. of Centre, AL, Michael David Howard of Rome, and James Rodgers, Jr. of Centre, AL; three daughters, Misty Dawn Howard of Centre, AL, Bobbie LeAnn Howard of Centre, AL, and Lisa Ann Howard of Rome; his former wife and the mother of his children, Connie Howard Marshall; five grandchildren, Devon Eugene Howard, Kelsey Cheyenne Howard, Abigail McKinley Howard, Aaron Jordan Rodgers, and Emily Ann Howard; a brother, Thomas Edward Nichols, Jr. of Centre, AL; and two sisters, Mary Jane Vinyard of Centre, AL and Kathy Ellen Blasengame of Kingston, GA. Several nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive.



Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 6, 2008, at 6:00 P.M. in the Oaknoll Chapel of the Jennings Funeral Home with Rev. Corey Wright and Rev. Tim Wright officiating.



The family will receive friends Wednesday from 5:00 P.M. until the funeral hour in the Oaknoll Chapel of the Jennings Funeral Home and following the service until 7:30 P.M.
