Charles Hunsicker, Sr.

Mr. Charles "Jerry" Hunsicker, age 67, of 30 Donley Drive, Rome passed away at a local healthcare facility on Monday, July 12, 2004 following an extended illness.Mr. Hunsicker was born in Floyd County, Georgia on July 4, 1937, the son of Eugene L. Hunsicker and Wyolene Brady Hunsicker. He attended Rome High School and from 1951-1954 he attended school in London's Bushy Park. Mr. Hunsicker was a veteran having served 20 years in the United States Navy, retiring in 1973. Mr. Hunsicker was a devoted member of the First Christian Church and a member of the Masonic Lodge in Bermuda. He was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Burden Hunsicker on October 14, 1995.Survivors include his parents, Eugene and Wyolene Hunsicker of Rome; one son and daughter in –law,, Charles Jerry (C.J.) and Crystal Hunsicker, Jr. of Florida; one daughter, Cindy Jean Hunsicker of Arizona; three grandchildren and one great grandchild.Funeral services for Mr. Hunsicker will be held on Thursday, July 15th at 11:00 am at Jennings Oaknoll Chapel with Rev. Horace Stewart officiating.
