Charles Lippincott

November 15, 1923 — October 16, 2008

Mr. Charles Russell Lippincott, age 84, of Cedar Bluff, AL, died Thursday, October 16, 2008, in a Rome hospital.



Mr. Lippincott was born in Sheridan Wyoming on November 15, 1923, the son of the late James Barton Lippincott and Mary Talbart Lippincott. He was raised in Tampa Fl. by his grandparents Mr. Willis Cage Lippincott and Mary Russell Lippincott He retired from the United States Navy serving during World War II, Korean War, and the Vietnam War. Mr. Lippincott worked at Northwest Regional Hospital for twelve years. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed gardening. In addition to his parents Mr. Lippincott was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Mildred Smith Lippincott on April 18, 2006.



Mr. Lippincott is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Larry Russell and Evelyn Smith Lippincott of Albuquerque, NM; two daughters, Linda G. Lippincott of Rome and Shirley Lippincott Hund and her husband, Henry of Cedar Bluff, AL; eight grandchildren, Tanya Lippincott and her husband, Donnie of Houston, TX, Steven Lippincott and his wife, Katie of Huntsville, AL, Kimberly Soanes and her husband, Jake of New Zealand, Brenda Lee and her husband, Charlie of Washington , DC, Cassandra Fuller and her husband, Bobby of Rome, Ben Hund and his wife, Leslie of San Antonio, TX, Jessica Landry and her husband, Bobby of Fort Campbell, KY, and Monica Hall of Leesburg, AL; twelve great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.



Graveside services will be held Sunday, October 19, 2008, at 4:00 PM with the Rev. Judith Walton Comer officiating interment in the Oaknoll Memorial Gardens. Full military honors will be provided by the Georgia National Guard Military.



In lieu of flowers the family request that donations be made to the Paralyzed Veterans of America, 7 Mill Brook Road, Wilton, N.H. 03086.



The family will receive friends Saturday from 7:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. in the Oaknoll Chapel of the McGuire, Jennings, and Miller Funeral Home.
