Mr. Charles David McFarland, 74, of Cartersville, died Monday, February 11, 2013 at Cartersville Medical Center.

Born May 11, 1938 in Gainesville, Georgia, he was the son of the late Carl David McFarland and the late Dovie White McFarland. Mr. McFarland was a member of Pleasant Hill Christian Church and was a retired truck driver. He loved to fish and travel and just enjoyed living life. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Ricky McFarland.

Survivors include his wife of 31 years, Linda L. McFarland; daughters, Gwen McNutt and her husband Harold of Tennessee, and Cindy Avallone and her husband Daniel of Adairsville; sons, Henry Shuler and his wife Lesa of Windsor, NY, Timmy Shuler and his wife Jennifer of White, and Michael McFarland and his wife Ivy of Adairsville; sisters, Betty Cook and her husband Verner of Ball Ground, Gail Dilbeck of Canton, Linda Wright and her husband Mike of Flowery Branch, and Carol Westmoreland and her husband Lamar, also of Flowery Branch; 14 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, February 15, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home with The Reverend Eric Helms officiating. Interment will be private. The family will receive friends on Thursday, February 14, 2013 from 6 until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
