Charles Patterson

Charles Buddy Patterson, 90 of Rydal, passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday July 4, 2024. He was born April 23, 1934, in Cartersville Georgia and was a son of the late James and Hattie Mae Wiley Patterson. Buddy was also preceded in death by his first wife and mother of his children, Florine Patterson; his sons James Danny, and Gerald Ray Patterson; grandchildren Charles Benny and David Patterson; stepchildren Eddie, Jimmy, and Terry Myrick and step-grandchild Deann Mangus; his brothers, Robert, Jimmy, and Tommy Patterson.

Buddy was a devoted Waffle House patron. He loved to tell jokes and to make people laugh. He enjoyed watching golf on television as a favorite pastime. He was a very proud "Papaw" and deeply loved by all his children and grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife Betty Gayton Patterson; his children Benny (Jackie) Patterson, Deborah (Jon) Jones, and Timothy (Mary) Patterson; stepchildren Chuck Myrick, Janey Mulkey; 19 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren.

A memorial visitation will be held at Parnick Jennings Funeral Home on Tuesday July 9, 2024, from 5:00 to 7:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers the family has requested to please consider donating, in memory of Buddy, to the Animal Rescue League of Northwest Georgia. Donations can be made through their Facebook page.
