Charles Rinehart

Mr. Charles Samuel Rinehart age 74, of Armuchee, GA died Tuesday, November 3, 2009, in a local hospital.
Mr. Rinehart was born in Ouray, CO on September 7, 1935, the son of the late Gilman Rinehart and Wilma Eldridge Rinehart. He lived in Rome for five years and prior in Aurora, Co. Mr. Rinehart retired from the United States Air Force after serving twenty-one years of service as an electronics specialist. He was a member of the Retired Enlisted Air Force Association and a member of the Air Force Sergeants Association. Mr. Rinehart was of the Episcopalian faith and was a fifty year member of the Elks Club in Ouray, CO. In addition to his parents Mr. Rinehart was preceded in death by a sister, Rita Dopson.
Survivors include his wife of fifty-four years, Shirley Marie Rinehart; a son, Michael Charles Rinehart of Armuchee; a daughter, Teresa Marie Metzger of Rome; four grandchildren, Trevor and Whitney Metzger of Rome, Kara Marie Metzger of Rome Caleb Neiber of Rome, and Kevin Rinehart of CO; two great-grandchildren, Sammy Metzger and Katie Grace Metzger both of Rome; a brother-in-law, Gayl Dopson of AZ; a special niece, Pam Schlichenmeyer. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
A Celebration of Life will be held Thursday, November 5, 2009, at 4:00 P.M. in the Oaknoll Chapel of the McGuire, Jennings, & Miller Funeral Home with Rev. Greg Blackman officiating and military honors will be conducted by the Shanklin-Attaway Post #5 of the American Legion Honor Guard.
The family will receive friends on Thursday from 3:00 P.M. until the funeral hour in the Oaknoll Chapel.
Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be donated to the National Wildlife Refuge Association, 1250 Connecticut Avenue NW Suite 600, Washington, DC 20036.
