Mrs. Charlotte Ann Jenkins, age 63, of 2695 Blacks Bluff Road, Rome passed away on Tuesday, June 29, 2004 at a local hospital. Mrs. Jenkins was born on June 2, 1941, in Blount County, Tennessee, the daughter of John Wesley Williams and Ethel M. Hunt Williams. She had been a resident of Floyd County since 1961, moving here from Tennessee. Mrs. Jenkins was a member of Bush Arbor Baptist Church and a member of the Ladies Sunday School Class. She worked at McHenry School lunchroom for seven years and with the Floyd County Police as a school crossing guard for two years. Mrs. Jenkins was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Charles Williams in August 2003, Gene Murphy in 2002 and Luther Murphy in 2001.Survivors include her husband, Jesse Jenkins to whom she was married May 19, 1962; three sons and daughters in-law, Michael and Kathy Jenkins, Jeff Jenkins and Stephanie Jenkins and Scott and Dawn Jenkins all of Rome; five grandchildren, Jonathan, Chris, Roxie, Jeremy and Annmarie; one brother, Willie Williams of Vonore, Tennessee. Funeral services for Mrs. Jenkins will be held at 11:00 am, Thursday, July 1st at the Oaknoll Chapel of Jennings Funeral Home with Rev. Donald Ash and Rev. Dennis L. Morgan officiating. Interment will follow in the Bush Arbor Baptist Church Cemetery on Blacks Bluff Road.The family will receive friends tonight (Wednesday) from 7:00 until 9:00 pm at the Oaknoll Chapel of Jennings Funeral Home.
