Mrs. Charlsie Viola Hardin Dobbins, age 91, of 1007 Ethel Avenue, Rome, GA, died Friday morning, October 15, 2004, at her residence.A native of Rome and Floyd County, Mrs. Dobbins was born on March 26, 1913, the daughter of the late William Sae Hardin and Ollie Belle Rhodes Hardin. She was a member of the West Rome Baptist Church, a housewife and a homemaker. Mrs. Dobbins enjoyed cooking and gardening. She was a loving wife and mother and the caregiver of her parents in their later years until their deaths. Mrs. Dobbins was married on September 18, 1937, to Mr. James Travis Dobbins who preceded her in death on March 9, 2001. Also preceding her in death was a brother and two sisters.Mrs. Dobbins is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, Barbara Gentry of Canton, GA, Louise D. and Glenn Adams of Rome, and Patty and Ray McDaniel of Melbourne, FL; three grandchildren, Christopher Gentry, Stephanie McDaniel and Elizabeth Gentry. A great-grandson, Justin McDaniel, also survives.Graveside and interment services for Mrs. Dobbins will be held on Sunday afternoon at 3 p.m. in the Floyd Memory Gardens with Rev. Ed Towers officiating. Those desiring to attend the service should meet at the cemetery on Sunday by 2:45 p.m.Mrs. Dobbins will lie in-state the Heritage Chapel of the Jennings Funeral Home where the family will receive friends this (Saturday) evening from 6 until 8 p.m. At other hours they will be at the residence.Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to the Floyd Home Health Agency, 800 North Broad Street, Suite 200, Rome, GA 30161.
