Chris Rooks

Mr. Chris Rooks, age 58, of Cartersville, died on Thursday, February 23, 2017 at Cartersville Medical Center. He was the son of the late James and Ruth Rooks.

Chris was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. His grandchildren adored him and called him "Pop". Chris was employed by Gerdau Ameristeel and was a hard worker. In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, NASCAR and riding his Harley. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Greg Rooks.

Survivors include his wife, Liz Rooks; his children, Kevin Rooks, Kyle Rooks, Kristen Gentry and husband, Jake; his grandchildren, Kylie Gentry, Abel Gentry, Paislee Rooks and her mother, Ashlee Rooks; his sister, Gwen Wright; his brother, Jeff Rooks and wife, Tammy; along with his father-in-law, Charles Saye.

A gathering of friends and family will take place on Saturday, March 4, 2017 from 5 -9 p.m. at Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
