Christa Berdt

Mrs. Christa Herma De Berdt, age 72, of Rome, GA, passed away on Tuesday, January 20, 2009 after a long illness.



Mrs. De Berdt was born in Vienna, Austria on November 19, 1936 . She was educated at the Wiener Modeschule (Viennese fashion school) in Vienna, Austria and was for many years very active in the Rome community creating and sewing wedding gowns as well as various original handcrafts and producing silk paintings. Also, she was active in Berry College�s Foreign Language Club and the Study Abroad Programs, started in 1972.



She leaves behind her husband, Dr. August J. De Berdt; a daughter, Barbara De Berdt and her friend, Larry Prince; a son, Paul De Berdt; a sister and a brother-in-law, Ulrike and Walter Kahrig of Austria; a sister-in-law, Fernanda De Berdt of Belgium; a sister and brother-in-law, Marilou and Ton De Vries of the Netherlands; and a brother and sister-in-law, Michiel and Trudy De Berdt of Virginia. Several nieces and nephews also survive.



A private get together for friends and family will be arranged at a later date.



The Oaknoll Chapel of the McGuire, Jennings, & Miller has charge of the arrangements for the funeral of Mrs. Christa Herma De Berdt.
