Christopher Martel

Christopher Robert Martel, 52, of Acworth died Tuesday, March 16, 2010 at his residence. He was born in Ventura, California on May 9, 1957 and was the son of the late Edmund Martel and the late Marjorie Breckon Martel. Christopher was employed by Sears as a driver and a mechanic. In his free time he enjoyed working on military vehicles and foreign cars. He was a member of the Military Vehicle Club and the Georgia State Defense Force.



Survivors include his wife of twenty seven years, Patricia McCoy Martel of Acworth; his daughter, Amy Lewis of Acworth; his brother and sister-in-law, Roger Edmund and Ava Martel of Ventura; and a granddaughter, Azalea Gordon of Cummings.



Funeral services will be held at 8:00 p.m., March 18, 2010 in the chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services with Captain Fred Skinner of the Georgia State Defense Force officiating. Burial will take place at 9:30 a.m. on Friday, March 19, 2010 in the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton.



The family will receive friends at Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 430 Cassville Road, Cartersville on Thursday two hours prior to the service.
