Clara O'Neal

Clara Pruitt O'Neal, 98, of Melbourne, Florida passed away Wednesday, May 28, 2008. Born September 5, 1909 in Cartersville, Clara was a resident of Melbourne for the past sixty-five years. She was the sister of the late Nellie Cantrell and Katie Cantrell of Cartersville, and the late James H. Pruitt of Melbourne, Florida, originally of Cartersville.

Clara managed the Havenaire Motel in downtown Melbourne; and during WWII managed, for her brother(James H. Pruitt) while he was overseas, The Highland Court Motel. She was also employed by Dixieland Drapery and Carpet as a custom seamstress.

Survivors include, her nephew Gene Cantrell of Cartersville; a niece Clara Temple of Cartersville; a niece Hannah Feldman of Brays Island, South Carolina. She is also survived by several nephews and nieces in Florida.

A graveside service will be conducted at 10:00 a.m., Monday, June 2, 2008 at Oak Hill Cemetery with Rev. Keith Willard officiating.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 9:00 until 10:00 a.m.
