Mr. Clarence Matthew Brock, Sr., 93, of Cartersville, widower of the late Lois Thomas Brock, died Monday, December 7, 2015 at Floyd Medical Center.
Born March 21, 1922 in Stilesboro, he was a son of the late Noah Brock and the late Ida Stubblefield Brock. Mr. Brock was a member of Zion Hill Baptist Church and was retired from the Bartow County School System. All the children at school loved him and called him Paw Paw. He loved playing with his grandchildren. In addition to his parents and his wife, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Sharon Brock; son-in-law, Frank McGill; grandson, Jason Colston; and all of his brothers, sisters, and in-laws.
Survivors include his children, Wanda Chatman and her husband Danny, Kathy McGill, Lynne Brock and her husband Ronnie, Sandy Evans, and Clarence Brock, Jr. and his wife Carla; 28 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Service will be held on Friday, December 11, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at Zion Hill Baptist Church with The Reverend David Baker, The Reverend Earl Abernathy, and The Reverend Forrest Leachman officiating. Interment will follow in the Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday, December 10, 2015 from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Parnick Jennings Funeral Home.
Flowers will be accepted, but the family suggests that those who wish may make donations to Zion Hill Baptist Church, 1105 Mission Road SW, Cartersville, GA 30120 in memory of Mr. Brock.
Serving as Pallbearers will be Forrest Leachman, Jeffrey Chatman, Steven Chatman, Matthew Brock, Colby Evans, Britt McGill, and Chad McGill.
