Clark Horsley

Mr. Clark Horsley, age 102, of 36 Bluff Mountain Road, Rome, died Thursday, November 13, 2008, at his residence.



Mr. Horsley was born February 25, 1906, in Carroll County, GA, son of the late Virgil Horsley and Exie Williams Horsley. Mr. Horsley was a retired insurance agent. He was

a devoted member of the North Rome Church of God. In addition to his parents, Mr. Horsley was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred Earlene Stone Horsley on October 1, 2007; two brothers; six sisters; and his step-mother, Laura Horsley.



Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Billy and Sara Horsley of Rome; four grandchildren and their spouses, Billy Horsley, Jr. and Terri Horsley of Canton, GA, Randy and Gina Horsley of Ringgold, GA, Charlene and Dwight Leonard of Rome, and Jeff and Amy Horsley of Rome; eight great-grandchildren, Hanna Horsley, Jeremy Horsley, Ryan Leonard, Will Leonard, Kris Horsley, Harrison Horsley, Caroline Horsley, and Christian Horsley; and special friends, Dorothy Mitchell, Robert and Gwen Phipps, and Yvonne Crabbe. Several nieces and nephews also survive.



Funeral services will be held Friday, November 14, 2008, at 7:00 P.M. in the Heritage Chapel of the McGuire, Jennings, & Miller Funeral Home with Rev. Harold Jones and Mr. Bert Brooks officiating. Graveside and interment services will be held Saturday at 11:00 A.M. in the East View Cemetery.



The family will receive friends Friday in the Heritage Chapel from 5:00 P.M. until the funeral hour.



The following gentlemen have been asked to serve as active pallbearers and are requested to meet in the Heritage Chapel on Friday by 6:30 P.M. and on Saturday by 10:15 A.M.: Wayne Casey, Sam Mize, Randle Brown, Howard Tyler, Steve Graves, and David Getman. The honorary pallbearers will be Arvil Thompson, Grady Walraven , Roy Thomas, and Glen Hall.
