Mrs. Cleo Virginia Smith Ash, age 84, of 6729 Martha Berry Highway, NE, Armuchee passed away on Saturday, November 04, 2006, at a local healthcare center.Mrs. Ash was born on September 1, 1922 in Floyd County Georgia, the daughter of the late William Smith and Vera Banister Smith. She lived all of her life in Floyd County and was a member of Antioch Baptist Church she was preceded in death by her husband Mr. John Charles "Buck" Ash on March 21, 2005; five sisters Ruby Loveless, Ruth Sprayberry, Lucille Evans, Claudia Comer and Fannie SmithSurvivors include; a son Randy Ash of Cartersville; daughter and son-in-law, Judy and Joe Garmon of Aragon, GA; one sister Minnie Ingram of Chickamauga, Ga. three grandchildren, Pamela Garmon, Joe Garmon and Charles Ash; two great grandchildren, Brandon Roberts and Joe Garmon, III. Several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.Funeral services for Mrs. Ash will be held at 2:00 pm,, Monday, November 06, at the Antioch Baptist Church with Rev. Gregg Free, Rev, Glenn Clonts and Randy Rolan officiating. Mrs. Ash will lie in-state at the church from 1:00 pm until the funeral hour. Interment will follow in the Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery.The family will receive friends at the Oaknoll Chapel of Jennings Funeral Home this evening (Sunday) from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm.
