Clyde Brock

Mr. Clyde L. Brock, Sr., 80, of Cartersville passed away Saturday, November 3, 2012 at Cartersville Medical Center.

Born in Dalton on March 30, 1932 he was the son of the late Raleigh Brock and the late Georgia Burkett Brock. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Lillian Scott Brock; and his sister, Sue Phillips.

Mr. Brock had been employed by World Carpet until his retirement and was a former employee of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and the City of Cartersville for ten years until eight months ago. He was a member and former Deacon of Oakland Heights Baptist Church where he headed up events such as the youth golf and fishing tournaments. Mr. Brock was known and well respected for his tireless work ethic. He was also an avid sports fan. His favorite places to eat were Ross' Diner and Adam's BBQ. Most importantly he was a hardworking and devoted, loving father and husband.

Survivors include his sons and daughter-in-law, Clyde "Buddy" Brock, Jr. (Elizabeth) of Cartersville and Tim Brock of Cartersville; his sisters and brothers-in-law, Mary Whaley of Cohutta, Odell Faucett (Garnell) of Austell and Sonja Martin (Raymond) of Chatsworth; his brothers and sisters-in-law, Kenneth Brock (Brenda) of Chatsworth, Joe Brock (Rachel) of Dalton and Richard Brock (Nancy) of Dalton; his granddaughter, Christie Patterson (Chris) of Cartersville; his grandsons, Dusty Brock (Erika) of Cartersville and Jordan Brock of Cartersville; his great-grandchildren, Casey Patterson, Carly Patterson and Carson Patterson all of Cartersville.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 6, 2012 at Oakland Heights Baptist Church with Reverend Joe McKaig officiating. A private committal service will take place after funeral services. The family will receive friends from 5 – 8 p.m. on Monday, November 5, 2012 at Parnick Jennings Funeral Home.
