Mr. Clyde E. Hilburn, 81, of Taylorsville, died Thursday, August 30, 2012 at his residence under the care of Heartland Hospice.
Born November 8, 1930 in Cartersville, he was a son of the late Walter Henry "Will" Hilburn and the late Mittie Mae Gravley Hilburn. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Thomas, Felton, and Walter Henry; his sisters, Ruby Kimbrell, Edith Jordan and Doris Jordan; his sons-in-law, Clinton James and Wayne Morris; his great-grandchild, Baby Noble; and his mother-in-law, Ruby Hovers. Clyde was a well-known building contractor and the owner of Hilburn Construction. He was also a fifty-plus year member and administrator of the local #1931 Loyal Order of the Moose with a Pilgrim Degree. He was a beloved husband, loving father, and a great-grandfather. He will be greatly missed.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Frances "Coot" Hovers Hilburn of the home; his sons and daughters-in-law, Bill and Elaine Hilburn of Cartersville, John Hilburn of Taylorsville, James and Cherry Hilburn of Emerson, Robert Hilburn of Emerson, Thomas Hilburn of Emerson and Paul Hilburn of Chatsworth; his daughters and sons-in-law, Joyce Morris of Cartersville, Gloria James of Cartersville, Jean and Wayne Reynolds of Taylorsville and Penny and Donald Hilliard of Emerson; friend and mother of his children, Mary E. Borum Hilburn of Emerson; and his thirty-nine great-grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held on Sunday, September 2, 2012 at 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home with The Reverend Bradford Thomas and The Reverend Donnie Summey officiating. Interment will follow in the Hunt Cemetery in Paulding County with a Pilgrims Memorial Ritual. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 5 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Serving as pallbearers will be his nephews, Billy Jordan, Johnny Jordan, Tommy Hilburn, Walter Hilburn, Wayne Hilburn and Kenny Hilburn. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be his nephew, Henry Jordan; his grandchildren, David Morris, Kenneth Morris, William Hilburn, Foster Bobo, Daren Brooks, Jessie Hilburn, Dusty Hilburn, Billy Hilburn, TJ Hilburn, Chris Reynolds, Jeffery Reynolds, a special honorary pallbearer, his great great-grandson, Dalton Reynolds; his granddaughters, Tina Morris Love, Jackie Hilburn Hrossowyc, Kim Hilburn, April James Noble, Amanda and Sonny Hilburn and Michelle Reynolds Parker.
