Colleen Allred

Colleen Wilson Allred, 94, of Cartersville passed away Friday, August 13, 2010 at the Maple Ridge Health Care Center. Born April 30, 1916 in Pickens County, she was the daughter of the late Carter Ferris Wilson and the late Lula Belle Bryant Wilson. She was also preceded in death by her loving husband T.H. Allred; three brothers, Glenn Wilson, Ray Wilson, and Robert Wilson; and her sister, Mattie Leah Tatum; and by her daughter-in-law, Kristy Allred.



Mrs. Allred was a member of the First Baptist Church of Cartersville where she loved singing in the choir. Her love for music and her God-given talent allowed Mrs. Allred to perform for many years as a soloist. She also sang in quartets with her husband for years. Mrs. Allred enjoyed quilting and creating ceramics. Outside of her love for her family and home, she had owned and operated a restaurant that was located across the street from EZ Mills where she had also been employed as a seamstress.



Mrs. Allred leaves to cherish her memory her children and their spouses, Cynthia Allred and Jim Price of Fairburn, Jim and Cindy Allred of Dalton, Ted Allred of Fayetteville, and Vic and Angela Allred of Dalton. She was also blessed with her grandchildren and their spouses, Tim and Anita Allred, Tish and Randy Parker, Joe Allred, Gregory and Tina Allred, Paige Allred, Jarrod Allred and Tara Kline, Jason and Katrina Allred, Jasmine Allred, and Victoria Allred; and fifteen great-grandchildren.



Mrs. Allred was the oldest child in a close and devoted family of thirteen. She is survived by her brothers and sisters and their spouses, Ethel Monroe, Hillard and Jean Wilson, Senate and Dottie Wilson, Sue and Wesley Lipscomb, Frances and Jimmy Bingham, Betty and Ron Richards, Billy and Claudine Wilson, and Carol and Clarence Brown, all of Cartersville. Survivors also include a number of nieces and nephews.



Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Monday, August 16, 2010 in the chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services. Burial will follow in Sunset Memory Gardens. Serving as pallbearers will be her grandsons.



The family will receive friends from 5 � 7 p.m. Sunday at Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 430 Cassville Rd., Cartersville, GA 30120.
