Crawford Walden, Sr.

Mr. Crawford L. Walden, Sr., age 65, of 205 Dean Avenue, Rome, GA, died Friday, December 24, 2004.A native of Rome and Floyd County, Mr. Walden was born on March 5, 1939, the son of Sally Leo Wilkins Walden and the late Paul William George Walden. Prior to retirement in 1996, he was associated with Lockheed Marietta for a number of years. Mr. Walden was a veteran of the United States Army and was a member of the Shanklin-Attaway Post 5 of the American Legion. He also was a member of the National Rifle Association. Mr. Walden enjoyed hunting and spending time with his family and grandson.Mr. Walden is survived by two sons, Crawford L. Walden, Sr. and his wife, Marsha Elaine, of Kingston, GA. and Dereck Walden of Rome; a grandson, Hunter Mason Walden; his mother, Sally Leo Walden of Panama City, FL; a sister, Marlene Cottle of Panama City.A memorial service for Mr. Walden will be held on Monday afternoon at 3 p.m. in the Heritage Chapel of the Jennings Funeral Home.The family will receive friends on Monday from 2:00 p.m. until the service hour.In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Star House, 212 North Fifth Avenue, Rome, GA, 30165.
