Cynthia Love Phillips

Jul 20, 1962 — Oct 19, 2026

Cartersville

Cynthia “Cindy” Love Phillips was a vibrant, hilarious, and loving resident of Cartersville, Ga. She passed away unexpectedly on Monday October 19th, 2026, at the age of 64. Born on July 20th, 1962, in Atlanta, Ga, Cindy will be remembered as a person who loved hard, kept people laughing, and was always willing to help those in need.

Cindy was beloved by her Hamilton Crossing Elementary School community where she served as Bookkeeper and other roles since 2002. Everyone knew “Ms. Cindy” as a constant source of love and encouragement. She was always willing to give a hug, smile, joke, or piece of advice. HCES students will remember her for many things, but especially for her afternoon announcements which were often filled with jokes, laughter, and sometimes weather-related instructions: “Remember to sleep with your pajamas inside out and put an ice cube in the toilet if we want a snow day!” Her HamFam coworkers will remember her as the person who could do it all while also acting as a safe space for those who needed a shoulder to cry on.

She loved the beach, Hello Kitty, traveling with her siblings, and spending time with her family. Her love of the beach began as a little girl when her parents, siblings, and cousins would spend summers playing in the sand and enjoying the ocean. She would always say that the beach was her happy place, and that going there meant she could toss all her troubles out into the ocean so the waves could wash them away. Her love of Hello Kitty began as a joke and turned into everything she had being Hello Kitty themed. Visiting new places had become something she enjoyed over the last few years because she got to spend time with the people she loved. Every time her extended family was able to get together for an event, she was always the person who brought the party with her and kept everyone laughing and talking until way past the time to go home.

Cindy’s memory will continue to live on in her children Jessica “Jessi” Phillips and Tyler Phillips; her mother Janel Harrison; her siblings Jan Hawkins, Ronald (Frances) Harrison, and Donald Harrison; her many nieces and nephews whom she loved as if they were her own children; and her “bestest good boy” dog Jax Phillips.

She was predeceased by her father John Thomas “JT” Harrison, brother Larry Thomas Harrison Sr., and nephew Larry Thomas “Tommy” Harrison Jr.

To her family, Cindy was the backbone who provided infinite support and love. To her friends and coworkers, she represented humor and support. To the students at HCES, she was the person who would let them know that they were loved no matter what. Everyone will miss her, but she will continue to live on in the hearts of all those who knew and loved her in life.
