It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Dana Ross Coley, a resident of Rome, Georgia, on Monday, March 30th, 2026. Ross was born on Monday, November 10th, 1952, to Dana A. & Gwendolyn Ladd Coley, who, along with his maternal grandparents Emory and Pearl Ladd and paternal grandparents Jackson & Francis Elizabeth "Betsy" Coley, preceded him in death. He led a life filled with dedication, talent, and love for those around him.
Ross was a proud graduate of Southern Polytechnic State University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science. His commitment to service extended beyond his education as he bravely served his country in the United States Air Force, earning the rank of SGT E-4.
Ross attended Faith Baptist Church in Kingston, GA. A man of many talents, he found joy in painting landscapes with both acrylic and watercolor, fishing, and often picking at a guitar and banjo.
Ross is survived by his beloved sister, Joyce Coley Gentry (Weldon); his nephew, Jimmy Gentry; niece, Angela Mayo (Scott); and nephew, David Gentry. He also leaves behind a legacy of love through his great-nephews and their families: Jimmy Dale Keyt (Alex) with Bravery, Asa, and Wilder, and Cole Mayo (Ashlyn).
Ross's presence will be sorely missed, but the memories he created will resonate in the hearts of those who knew him. He was more than just a part of the family, always providing love, laughter, and warmth.
Arrangements for Ross have been entrusted to Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
Services with a private veteran service at Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, GA on Wednesday, May 6th, as well as a memorial service at 1:00 pm on Saturday, June 6th at Faith Baptist Church, Kingston, GA.
May Dana Ross Coley rest in eternal peace, his life a testament to love and kindness.
