Daniel Barfield

Mr. Daniel M. Barfield, 81, of Adairsville, died Tuesday, November 13, 2012 at Northside Hospital – Cherokee in Canton.
Born December 8, 1930 in Marietta, he was a son of the late John Maurice Barfield, and the late Betty Carney Barfield. Mr. Barfield was a member of Crowe Springs Baptist Church, and was a veteran of the United States Army, proudly serving during the Korean War. Dan loved playing softball, and played for many years in the senior league at Hobgood Park.
Survivors include his wife, Helen Barfield of Adairsville; sons, John Barfield of Woodstock, and James Barfield of Los Angeles, CA; brother, Jack Barfield of Marietta; sister, Betty Sue Jordan of Marietta; grandchildren, Jenny Wohl, Judith Gibbs, Elizabeth Morgan, Nicole Howard, Samantha Wade, Nicholas Canter, Sophia Martin; step-children, Cheryl Carter, Sheila Gunter, Forrest Boss, and Scott Martin; granddaughter, Britney Barfield; 8 great-grandchilren, and several nieces and nephews.
A service will be held at the graveside, in Barfield Cemetery in Marietta, on Saturday, November 17, 2012 at 1:00 p.m., with The Reverend Ronnie Cowart officiating. A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
The family suggests that those who wish may make donations to the American Cancer Society, 1256 North Cobb Parkway, Suite 102, Marietta, GA 30062-2420, in memory of Mr. Barfield.
