Mr. Dan Ball, 58, of Cartersville passed away Friday, January 16, 2009 at his residence. Born December 24, 1950 in Logan, West Virginia, he was the son of the late Wilmer Dorn Ball and the late Mildred Pearl Browning Ball. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Arnold Ball, and his sister, Sonia.
Dan had been a cook in the deli at Jo Joe�s Market. He formerly owned a printing shop in Marietta, and he had formerly been employed by The Atlanta Journal Constitution. Dan loved to cook and fish, and he was very proud of his nephew, Chandler. Dan was a veteran of the United States Army having served in Viet Nam. He was also a life member of the North American Hunting Club.
Survivors include his brother and sister-in-law, Paul and Carol Ball of Vermilion, Ohio; his sister-in-law, Dianna Ball of Madison, West Virginia; his aunt, Rosie Ball of Hewitt, West Virginia; his nieces and their husbands, Kimberly and Bob Davidson of Cartersville and Patricia and Greg Cauldell of Flint, Michigan; his great nieces and great nephews, Shawn Arnold, Chelsey Davidson, T.J. Logie, Jamie Logie, Sarah Logie, Johnathan Pease, and Nicholas Pease; his great-great nephew, Chandler Arnold; his cousin, Joyce Ball of Hewitt, West Virginia; and many friends who will miss his cooking.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 21, 2009 in the chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services with Chief Duane Smith officiating. Burial with full military honors will follow in the Georgia National Cemetery at a later date. Officers of the Euharlee Police Department as well as any veteran who knew Dan are requested to serve as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends from 12 � 2 p.m. Wednesday at Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 430 Cassville Rd., Cartersville, GA 30120.
