Danny Carroll

Mr. Danny Joe Carroll, age 63, of 9 Texas Ave, Rome, GA, died Sunday, April 22, 2007, in a local hospital.

A native of Rome and Floyd County, Mr. Carroll was born on April 9, 1944, son of the late Doyle Carroll and Lucille Carroll. He attended Huffacker Baptist Church. Mr. Carroll was an avid wrestling and NASCAR fan. He also enjoyed fishing and camping. Mr. Carroll was preceded in death by his wife, Bessie Carroll.

Mr. Carroll is survived by a son, Nathan Carroll; a daughter, Lisa Hernandez of Rome; six step-children, Brenda Rogers, Gwen Terry, Danny Elrod, Linda Abbott, Robbie Elrod, and Joyce Cruz; 19 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; a brother, Ray Carroll and a sister, Ann Bailey both of Rome. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 26, 2007, at 1 P.M. in the Heritage Chapel of the Jennings Funeral Home with Rev. Wayne Rogers officiating. Interment will follow in the Oakland Cemetery.

The family will receive friends this (Wednesday) afternoon from 2 until 4 P.M. in the Heritage Chapel of the Jennings Funeral Home. At other hours the family will receive in Linda Abbott's home.

The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers and include Mack Abbott, Dwayne Bailey, Tony Terry, Steven Carroll, Robbie Elrod, and Wayne Bowen.
