Danny Knight

June 2, 1947 — January 6, 2009

Mr. Danny Joe Knight, 61, of Rydal passed away Tuesday, January 6, 2009 at Crawford Long Hospital in Atlanta. Born in Cartersville on June 2, 1947, he was the son of the late John P. Knight and the late Violet Collette Knight. Mr. Knight was a retired overhauler with Goodyear Tire and Rubber Co., and he was a member of Atco Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents; and his brother, Frankie Knight.



Survivors include his wife, Mary Ann Knight of Rydal; his daughter and son-in-law, Angela and Dwight Scissel of Cherokee, Alabama; his sons and daughters-in-law, Charles Wesley and Sherry Knight of Cartersville, Daniel Jason and Teena Marie Knight of Iuka, Mississippi, and David Jeremy and Kim Knight of Cartersville; his sister, Mary Ann Adcock of Cartersville; 9 grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Johnny W. �Red� Roberson.



Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 10, 2009 in the chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services with Rev. Wayne Richmond and Rev. Jim Pinkard officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memory Gardens.



Serving as pallbearers will be Jerry Richmond, Don Allred, Michael Roberson, Bobby Wilson, Timmy Wilson, and Mickey Reed. Honorary pallbearers will be Johnny Roberson, Frank �Rink� Martin, Jim McConkey, Hal McEver, Howard Bugg, Michael Ford, Larry Cline, and Brad Camp. Gentlemen serving as pallbearers are requested to meet at the funeral home by 10:15 a.m. on Saturday.



The family will receive friends from 5 � 9 p.m. Friday at Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 430 Cassville Rd., Cartersville, GA 30120 and at other times may be contacted at their residence.
