Mr. David Edge, age 71, of Rome, GA died Monday, May 17, 2010 in a Rome hospital.
Mr. Edge was born July 31, 1938 in Floyd County, GA son of the late Harold Edge and Agnes Abney Edge. Mr. Edge was retired from General Electric with 35 years of service.
Survivors include his former wife Doris Edge of Rome, GA; sons, Ricky Edge of Florida and Randy Edge of Rome, GA; a daughter, Debra VanHorn of Kingston, GA; grandchildren, Jason Edge of Rome, GA, Shanna Edge of Florida, Brittany VanHorn and Chelsea VanHorn both of Kingston, GA, Kevin Edge and Shannon Edge both of Rome, GA and two great-grandchildren also survive.
A Celebration of Life service will be held Friday, May 21, 2010 at 2:00 P.M. in the Heritage Chapel of the McGuire, Jennings & Miller Funeral Home with Mr. Henry Conaway officiating. Interment will follow in the Oaknoll Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends Thursday from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. in the Heritage Chapel.
The following gentlemen have been asked to serve as pallbearers and are requested to meet in the Heritage Chapel by 1:30 P.M.: Shannon Edge, Drew Haynes, Michael Poole, Lan Moody, Gene VanHorn, Corey Edge and Jesse Dutton.
