David Whorton

Mr. David A. Whorton, 84, of Cartersville, passed away Tuesday, February 14, 2012 at a local nursing home. Born in Owens Crossroads, Alabama, March 14, 1927, he was the son of the late Alva Whorton and the late Ellen Stapler. He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Myrtice Smith Whorton; his son, David Allen Whorton, Jr.; seven brothers and three sisters.



Survivors include his daughters and sons-in-law, Mildred and Sonny Craft and Judy and Carl Baker; his son and daughter-in-law, Danny and Sheila Whorton; seven grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and his sisters, Ethel Treece and Madgalene Jones.



A memorial service will be held at a later date in Huntsville, Alabama.
