Delbert Day

Mr. Delbert George Day, 84, of Cartersville died Saturday, August 21, 2010 at Cartersville Medical Center. Born in Montrose, Pennsylvania, June 11, 1926, he was the son of the late George Day and the late Pauline Alice Seiber Day. He was of the Baptist faith and retired from IBM after thirty one years. Mr. Day was a veteran of WWII serving in the U.S. Navy where he fought in the Battle of Okinawa.



Surviving Mr. Day is his wife of sixty three years, Joan Day; his daughter and son-in-law, Susan Dunn and Ken Zail of Dallas, Georgia; his son and daughter-in-law, Gary Brian and Pat Day of Montrose, PA.; his grandchildren, Jeremy and Courtney Dunn of Mableton, Miriam and Dan Burk of Wolcott, Iowa, Matthew and Lori Day of Ithaca, NY, Michelle Cokeley of Canton, Ga., and Mark and Cebell Day of Binghamton, NY; his brother and sister-in-law, Louis and Ursula Day of Montrose, PA; and his sister, Leona Bolles of Arcola, IL.



A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday at Georgia National Cemetery with Rev. Chris Pugliese and grandson, Jeremy Dunn officiating.

American Legion Carl Boyd Post 42 will be in charge of military honors.
