Dickie Junior Collins, 85 of Cartersville, GA passed quietly at home, surrounded by family, on Monday, July 29, 2024 after a long battle with dementia.
Dickie was born June 24, 1939, to D.B. and Lois Collins of Chatsworth, GA and graduated from Murray County High School in 1957. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Wayne Collins
Survived by wife of 53 years, Nancy Smith Collins and Children, Greg Collins of Dalton, Teresa Collins Saliba of Panama City, FL, Melissa Collins of Naples, FL and Crystal Collins Thompson of Cartersville, GA. Dickie is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren, and his loyal sidekick, Jake.
Dickie was the patriarch of his family. Along with being a devoted husband and father, he was known to his friends and family as an avid hunter, fisher, and he loved playing poker and coaching softball. Dickie was a member of the Cartersville Elks Lodge for more than 30 years. He was a loyal fan of the Atlanta Braves and Georgia Bulldogs.
Daddy, you will forever be remembered for your giving nature, your sense of humor, and how you cherished every moment with your loved ones and friends. You are loved and will be missed by us all!

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 1

, 2024, in the Jennings Funeral Home chapel with Pastor Ronnie Hudson, Carl Abernathy, and Pastor Sheila Beavers officiating. Burial will follow at Cassville Cemetery on Chunn Facin Rd NW, Cartersville, GA 30121. The family will receive friends for visitation on Wednesday, July 31tst, 2024, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Jennings Funeral Home.
Serving as pallbearers will be Garrett Thompson, Brent Scott, Jeremy Collins, Nathan Anderson, Logan Viars, and Ayden Saliba. Honorary pallbearers will be Dustin Scott, Alex Viars, Brian Anderson, and Christopher Anderson.
