Dollene Dean

Dollene F. Dean, "Dolly" , 83, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, January 11, 2020 while being embraced by loving family and messages of love from those not able to be there.

Mom was proud to be a player of the 1956 Girls All State Basketball team during her senior year of High School in Edneyville, NC. She was a lifelong enthusiastic Duke Basketball fan.

After High School, Dolly went to work at the Pentagon and later became a Defense Fuel Region Specialist with the United States Defense Dept. where she advanced quickly due to her work ethic and strong determination, which she instilled in her children.

She is survived by her four children: Linda Dominy (Paul), Eddie Brown (Christina), Susette Engle and Shannon King. Her grandchildren, Timothy (Anna), Alison, Christopher, Aaron, Brian, Kimberly, Andrew, Adin, Joseph, Thomas, Emily, Julia, Jeffery, LynAnn and Christal. Great-grandson, Levi and Sister, Sophia.

Preceded in death by her parents, Lillie and Harley Freeman; Silblings: HJ, Sam, Nell, Wade and Ena.

She will be dearly missed and fondly remembered for her love of family and friends: her strength during her fight with cancer, her love of gardening, geography, favorite TV show, Jeopardy, her favorite team, Duke and reading her Bible.

We love you and will see you again.
