Dollie Cope

Mrs. Dollie Mae Cope, 96, of Cartersville, passed away Monday, May 6, 2013 at Maple Ridge Healthcare Center. Born in Pickens County on July 28, 1916, she was the daughter of the late Jessie H. Smith and the late Bertha Owens Smith.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 32 years, Edward Earnest Cope and her daughter Sandra Ellen "Sandy" Ciangi. She was a faithful and loving member of Tabernacle Baptist Church and enjoyed playing bingo in her spare time.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Jackie and Kathy Cope of Cartersville; her son-in-law, Robert Ciangi of Marietta; her grandchildren, Debbie Hicks Gurovich and her husband, Ken of Woodstock; Corey Cope, Ashley and Tim Gilstrap and Tammie Cope; eight great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and a special friend, Ruby Treadwell.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, May 9, 2013 at Oak Hill Cemetery with Reverend Don Startup officiating. Family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery on Thursday. The family will receive friends from 6 – 8 p.m., Wednesday, May 8th at Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Net Work at pancan.org. in memory of her daughter, Sandy, who passed away with Pancreatic Cancer.
