Donald Larry Poston, Sr. passed away on Thursday, May 30, 2019 at Assured Hospice, surrounded by his family.
Born on November 20, 1949 he was the son of the late Robert Lee Poston, Sr, and the late Frances Knox Poston. He was also preceded in death by his ex-wife, Cathy Diane Pruitt; his brother, Tommy Poston; and his sister-in-law, Eileen.
Donald served his country in Germany in the Army and was known throughout Bartow County as "Boogerman". He enjoyed riding his motorcycle with his sons, grandsons, and friends.
Survivors include his siblings, Joan Tidwell (Gordon), and Robert L. Poston, Jr. (Ivelyn); his sons, Donald "Don" Poston, Jr., Thomas Poston (Twila), Bobby Joe "BJ" Poston (Courtney), and Jason Poston. Donald was known as "Paw Paw Boogie" to his grandchildren, Heath Poston (Cierra), Dylan Poston, Celestial Greene, Georgie Poston, Charlie Poston, and Tucker Rhett Poston; and his great-grandchildren, Abigale, Rhett, Ryan, Laine, and Azlynn; and many loving nieces and nephews; friends, David "Babo" Mosley, Rickey Floyd, Billy Grogan; and his ex-wife, Eddie Scheffield Sommers.
The family will be holding a memorial service at Young Street Baptist Church on Saturday, June 1, 2019. A memorial motorcycle ride in "Boogerman's" honor announced at a later date.
