June 23, 1935 — April 6, 2010

Dora Jean Pope, 74, of Kingston passed away Tuesday, April 6, 2010 at her residence. Born in Pineville, Kentucky on June 23, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Elzie Collett and the late Margaret Collett. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Arvil Pope; a son James Pope; and a brother, Jay Collett.



Mrs. Pope was a homemaker and enjoyed working in her yard and taking care of her animals. She was of the Baptist faith.



Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law, Edwin and Johnnie Pope, Donnie and Louise Pope, and Glenn and Fay Pope, all of Cartersville, and Raymond Pope of Kingston; her daughters and sons-in-law, Marie and Robert Lingerfelt of Kingston, Emalene and Charles Adcock of Cartersville, Ann and Windle Hobgood of Cartersville, and Debra and Stephen Addison of Adairsville; nineteen grandchildren; thirty-two great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.



Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, April 8, 2010 in the chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services with Rev. Darrell Bailey and Mr. Ronnie Pope officiating. Burial will follow in Woffords Crossroads Baptist Church Cemetery.



Mrs. Pope's grandsons will serve as pallbearers and are asked to meet at the funeral home by 1:15 p.m. on Thursday.



The family will receive friends from 6 � 9 p.m. Wednesday at Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 430 Cassville Rd., Cartersville, GA 30120.
