Doris Jewel Montgomery, 77, of Cartersville passed away on December 26, 2008 at her residence. Born in Alabama on December 16, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Harlen Thomas and Mattie Parker. She was also preceded in death by her daughter Debra Brown, her sisters, Ann Hallman and Louise Abernathy and her brother David Thomas.



Doris was a homemaker. She was a member of the Central Baptist Church and enjoyed singing and working with flowers.



Survivors include her husband, David Montgomery, her daughters, Carolyn (James) Gregory and Tina (Hector) Juarez all of Cartersville, her sisters, Betty (Doug) Dobson, of Stockbridge, Martha Turner, of Adairsville, and her brother Ed Thomas of Adairsville. Doris also had 6 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.



Serving as pallbearers will be Kevin Tomlin, Ray Montgomery, Ruben Juarez, Hector Juarez, James Gregory and Eric Brown.



Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday, December 29, 2008 in the chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services with the Rev. Charles Moore officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens.



The family will receive friends from 6 � 9 p.m. Sunday at Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 430 Cassville Rd., Cartersville, Ga. 30120.
