Dorothy Dawson

March 25, 1925 — March 17, 2011

Mrs. Dorothy Lee Dawson, 85, of Cartersville, passed away Thursday, March 17, 2011 at Starcrest of Cartersville. She was born in Euharlee March 25, 1925 the daughter of the late Robert H. Hubbard and the late Emma Emerson Hubbard. She was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church and was a wonderful homemaker. Dot loved life and was over the top in anything that she did. She was a great mother and grandmother and loved her family dearly. Preceding her in death was her husband, Lawrence Dawson, her parents, her brothers, Cecil Hubbard and Ellis Hubbard and her sister, Jodell Hubbard Gentry.



Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Terry and Johnette Dawson, her daughter and son-in-law, Brenda and Larry Woods; her grandchildren and their spouses, Teresa Stiles, Kim and Shane Jackson and Jennifer and David Stiles; her great-grandchildren; Joshua and Jordan Stiles; and her sister, Pauline �Polly� McIntyre.



Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday March 19, 2011 at Macedonia Baptist Church in Kingston at 11:00 a.m. with the Reverend Ted Towns officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at Parnick Jennings Funeral Home Friday evening from 5 - 9 p.m.



Serving as pallbearers will be the following gentlemen, Shane Jackson, David Stiles, Joshua Stiles, Jim Benfield, Danny Armstrong, and Michael Forsyth. Charles Forsyth will serve as an honorary pallbearer. Pallbearers are asked to meet at the funeral home by 10:00 a.m. Saturday.



Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 430 Cassville Road, Cartersville is entrusted with the arrangements for Mrs. Dorothy Lee Dawson.
