Dorothy Goocher

Mrs. Dorothy Ann Goocher, age 72, of Marietta passed away on Friday April 11, 2014 at Kennestone Hospital.

Born in Cartersville, she was the daughter of the late Warren Lloyd Thacker and late Ollie Green Thacker. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her brother, Edgar Thacker and her great-granddaughter Eden Goocher.

Dorothy loved the Atlanta Braves, and her family, she was a lover of music, skiing, camping, swimming, and bowling. As all great treasures, her memory will be as powerful as her presence on those who loved her and those she loved.

Survivors include her husband of 50 years, Olen Goocher; her sons, Tim Durden Sr. (Nancy) of Acworth, Louis Goocher (Monta) of Fairburn; her daughters, Debra (Gary) Morgan of Marietta, Sharon Goocher of Smyrna, Megan Durden of Acworth; her brothers, Lloyd Thacker Jr. of Rome, Wayne Thacker of Cartersville, and Harold Thacker (Levern) of Cartersville; special sister Sandra (Barry) Springfield of Cartersville; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews as well as a lifetime of friends.

A memorial service will be held in the chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home on Saturday April 19, 2014 at 12:00 p.m.
