Dorothy "Dot" Mansfield Taylor, 83 of Cartersville, passed away peacefully September 26, 2021 surrounded her loving daughters and special son in law, Tommy.
Dot was born August 29, 1938 to the late Joseph Benjamin Mansfield and Clyde Whitworth Mansfield. She was of the Baptist faith.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Wiley "Doc" Taylor; her beloved brother, James Patrick "Jamie" Mansfield; and special sister, Carol Mansfield Lowery.
Survivors include her loving daughters, Madelyn Brown; and Lynn (Tommy) Gayton. Grandchildren, Josh (Savannah) Gossett, Aaron (Toni) Gossett, Nick (Kayla) Gossett, Kyle Gossett, Joseph Brown, and Christy (Drew) Bishop. Thirteen great-grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren; also surviving is a nephew, Jody (Donna) Lowery.
Dot was dearly loved by all who knew her. She was a kind, gentle, selfless, woman who never met a stranger and always had a smile. Simply put, to know her was to love her. Dot loved her Doug's Place family and spending Friday nights sitting on the porch at Doug's listening to Bluegrass and gospel music. She will be greatly missed but is now rejoicing in Heaven and reunited with her family.
Serving as pallbearers will be Josh Gossett, Aaron Gossett, Nick Gossett, Kyle Gossett, Michael Gossett and Joseph Brown.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, September 29th from 5:00 pm -7:00 pm. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 30th in the chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home with Reverend Keith Willard officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery.
