Mrs. Dorothy Louise "Dot" Webb, age 85, of 25 Benjamin Street, Rome, GA, died Tuesday, November 7, 2006, in a local hospital.Mrs. Webb was born in Kenton, DE, on May 1, 1921, the daughter of the late Frank W. and Lula Walls Stevens. She had resided most of her life in Delaware, moving to Rome 6 years ago. Mrs. Webb retired from the University of Delaware in 1980 and was of the Methodist faith. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by Sam Berkheiser, her companion for over 40 years; daughter, Sandra Ellen Webb; two brothers, Franklin Stevens and Tommy Stevens; three sisters, Fairlee Stevens, Ida Jester and Gladys McVicker.Mrs. Webb is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Thadda Sockriter and her husband, Raymond, of Milton, DE, and Jacky Dillard and her husband, Herman, of Rome, GA; two brothers, A.E. Stevens and James D. Stevens, both of Greenwood, DE. Nine grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren, five great-great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews also survive.A graveside service for Mrs. Webb will be held at a later date in Sutlersville, MD, with Mrs. Webb's grandson, Rev. Raymond Sockriter, Jr. in charge of the service.
