Douglas Black

July 30, 1948 — January 1, 2008

Mr. Douglas Lee Black, 59, of 111 Woodhaven Dr., Cartersville passed away Tuesday, January 1, 2008 at the Cartersville Medical Center. A native of Cartersville, he was the son of the late Hugh M. Black. Mr. Black was the plant manager for J & J Industries.

Survivors include his wife, Mildred Bridges Black; his mother, Effie Ledford Black; his son, Chris Black; his daughter and son-in-law, Brandy and Ray Pace; a very special grandson, Samuel Ray Pace; his brother, Danny Black; his sisters, Ruby Diane Anderson and Deborah Kay Lumpkin; several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews; and many close friends.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, January 4, 2008 in the chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services with Mr. Fred King officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery in Cartersville.

Serving as pallbearers will be Michael Poole, Ronnie Thomason, Donald Bridges, Mike Patterson, Hoyt Patterson, and Marvin Cordele. Pallbearers are requested to be at the funeral home by 12:15 p.m. on Friday.

The family will receive friends from 7 – 9 p.m. on Thursday at Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 430 Cassville Rd., Cartersville, GA 30120.
