Doyle Whitfield

Mr. Doyle �D.W.� Whitfield, 77, of Cartersville, passed away peacefully, Thursday, January 05, 2012 at Cartersville Medical Center surrounded by his family. Born in Cherokee County on June 2, 1934, he was the son of the late Oscar Whitfield and the late Harriett Hitt Whitfield. He is preceded in death by his parents; and his daughters, Lisa Whitfield and Kelly Caneup.

Mr. Whitfield was a member of Center Baptist Church.



Survivors include his loving wife of fifty-six years, Daisy Lanelle Simpson Whitfield; his children, Steve Whitfield and wife, Sylvia, Suzanne Phillips and husband, Art, Tracy Whitfield, Sherry Copeland and husband, Shane, and William Whitfield and wife, Lori; fourteen grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren.



Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, January 7, 2012 at Center Baptist Church with Reverend Joey Phillips and Reverend Dewey Atchley officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.



Serving as pallbearers will be Anthony Nation, Cody Copeland, Andrew Seymour, Billy Nolan, Rob Adkerson and Ceasar Vasquez. The Deacons of Center Baptist Church will serve as honorary pallbearers.



The family will receive friends from 6 � 9 p.m., Friday at Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 430 Cassville Road, Cartersville.
