It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Earl Clayton Thacker, a beloved resident of Cartersville, GA, who left this world on Monday, May 4th, 2026, at the age of 74. Earl was born on Tuesday, September 4th, 1951, in Cartersville, where he spent his entire life, surrounded by family and friends.
Earl was a man of many talents and passions. He had a deep love for motorcycles and could often be found enjoying a ride through the scenic roads of Georgia. He enjoyed hill climbing and Motocross. He loved fast cars. A gifted musician, Earl delighted in playing the organ, filling his home with music and joy. His love for the outdoors was evident in his fondness for fishing, a pastime he enjoyed throughout his life.
A devoted family man, Earl cherished every moment spent with his granddaughter, Ashlynn Neale. He was actively involved in all aspects of her life, especially her sports, cheering her on from the sidelines with pride. Earl's heart was also warmed by his step-granddaughter, Haley Marshall.
Earl was a man who could build or fix anything, a testament to his resourcefulness and skill. He embraced life with enthusiasm and a positive spirit that was infectious to those around him. His fur baby, Zoey, was his pride and joy, providing him with companionship and unconditional love.
Earl was preceded in death by his parents, Barney and Nellie Thacker, as well as his sisters, Shirley Novak and Betty Sue Clark, and his brothers, James, Alvin, Jerry, and Tommy Thacker. He is survived by his loving significant other, Brenda Bauer; his devoted daughter, Brigette Neale, and her husband, Kevin; his cherished granddaughter, Ashlynn Neale; his step-granddaughter, Haley Marshall; and special cousin, Stephanie Bearden Moore.
