Edd Martin

Mr. Edd R. Martin, 83, of Cartersville passed away Monday, October 1, 2012 at his residence following a lingering illness.
A native of Bartow County, Edd was born September 6, 1929 to the late Asbury J. Martin and the late Minnie Reagan Martin. He is preceded in death by his sisters, Ethel Padgett, Lola Griffin, Annie Mae Gilbert and Myrtle Jones .Ed was self-employed as a cattleman.
Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Kathryn Black Martin; son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth and LaWanda Martin; two grandsons, Christopher Martin and Corey Martin and wife, Carrie; three great-grandchildren, Will, Parker, and Sara Beth Martin; his brother, Cliff Martin; his brother-in-law and sisters-in-law, Buddy and Jackie Black, Doris Ward and Dot Black; along with several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, October 4, 2012 at Zion Hill Baptist Church with Reverend Paul Battles and Reverend Corey Martin officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 – 8 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.
Serving as pallbearers will be Billy Martin, Bobby Wade, Don Abernathy, Buddy Black, Jerome Black and Christopher Martin. Will and Parker Martin will serve as honorary pallbearers.
