Eddie Stewart Jr

Eddie Wilson Stewart, Jr. age 76, of Cartersville, died Thursday, September 18, 2008 at his residence. Born in Alabama on Nov. 29, 1931, he was the son of the late Eddie Wilson (Bud) Stewart and the late Nancy Elliott Stewart. Mr. Stewart was employed by Lockheed Martin from 1969 until 1994 as a supervisor. He was a member of Brandon Chapel Church and had a great love for his family, friends, hunting, fishing and his golf. Preceding him in death are his parents; his wife, Billie Jean Cassity Stewart; and one sister, Fonda Vanzant.



Mr. Stewart was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, active from 1948 until his retirement in 1969 from Sewart Air Force Base. He served tours in both Korea and Vietnam. He was active in the Connesena Hunting Club, the Cartersville Elks Lodge and never missed a Cartersville baseball or football game.



Survivors include his children, Eddie and Jeana Stewart, Robert and Betty Stewart, Beverly Powers, Kevin Stewart, Larry Lynch, Mike Lynch, Jean and Herb Jenkins, Joan Lynch, Robin and Cinda Jones, Steve and Connie Stewart, Lisa and Randy Rutledge and Paul Stewart; his grandchildren, Emily, Lindsey, Ashley, Bailey, Brittney, Brandon, Quinton, Sarah, Elliott, Erynn and Billie Jean Stewart, Michael Millspaugh, Pete Holliman, Ryan Jones, Parker and Olivia Rutledge, Larry , Cassidy and Christopher Lynch along with several great grandchildren.



Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 21, 2008 in the chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services with Rev. Tony Lyle officiating. Interment will follow in Stilesboro Cemetery with American Legion Carl Boyd Post 42 in charge of full military graveside rites.



Pallbearers are asked to meet at the funeral home on Sunday at 2:15 p.m. and will include: Delano Cantrell, Wayne Thompson, Tom Bishop, Junior Emory, Pete Wright, David Hartman, and Greg Collins. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Dickie Collins, Greg Taylor, Wayne Rutledge and Harry Martin.



The family will receive friends at Parnick Jennings Funeral Home on Saturday from 6 � 9 p.m. The family request in lieu of flowers those desiring may make donations to the Cartersville Elks Lodge Building Fund, 1715 West Avenue, Cartersville, Ga. 30120.
